USDC is a stablecoin: one USDC equals one US dollar. We accept it on the Base network, built by Coinbase: a transfer there costs less than a cent and goes through in seconds. If you have a Coinbase account, the whole thing takes five minutes.
Via Coinbase
- Open the Coinbase app or website. If you don’t have an account, register and pass identity verification; you can’t withdraw coins without it.
- Tap “Buy”, choose USDC and buy the amount you need with a card or from a linked account. The transfer on Base costs less than a cent, but Coinbase may charge a fee for buying with a card, so buy a little more than the amount on the payment page: whatever’s left stays yours.
- Open the Cladar payment page, choose USDC (Base) and copy the address with the “Copy” button.
- In Coinbase tap “Send”, choose USDC and paste the address. In the network selector choose Base. Coinbase usually offers it first for USDC, but check: a transfer over Ethereum will arrive, but it’s lost to us, because we’re expecting it on Base.
- Enter the exact amount from the payment page and confirm. Within two to three minutes the Cladar payment page shows “Paid — access is open”.
Via another wallet or exchange
Any service that can withdraw USDC to the Base network will do: Kraken, Binance, MetaMask, Trust Wallet, Coinbase Wallet and others. Same steps: buy USDC, choose the Base network when withdrawing, paste the address and the amount from the payment page. If the service only offers Ethereum, Polygon or Arbitrum but not Base, it’s safer to go through Coinbase than to risk it.
Two notes for those paying from a wallet rather than an exchange:
- MetaMask, Trust Wallet and Coinbase Wallet have a “Buy” button: you buy USDC right inside the wallet with a card or Apple Pay, no exchange account needed. You’ll still be asked to verify your identity on the first purchase; that’s a requirement of the wallet’s payment partner. The fee is higher than on an exchange, but it’s fast.
- Such a wallet needs the network fee in ETH on the Base network, literally a few cents. With no ETH on the balance the transfer won’t go out. The Coinbase app doesn’t need this: it covers the fee itself.
Check before sending
- Network: Base. A Base address looks like an Ethereum one and starts with 0x, so choose the network deliberately.
- The address was copied with the button, not typed by hand.
- The amount equals the amount on the payment page.
- The timer on the payment page is still running.
FAQ
Can I pay with ETH or Bitcoin? No, only USDC on Base or USDT on TRON. Their price doesn’t fluctuate, so the price in the app always equals the amount you send.
I sent less than needed. The payment page shows how much is missing. Top up to the same address while the timer is running.
I sent more. The payment goes through; the difference is not refunded.
The timer ran out and the transfer only just went out. A transfer to this address still counts for the next few hours. If access still hasn’t opened, write to [email protected] with the transaction hash, which Coinbase shows in the transaction history. We’ll credit it by hand.
I sent to Ethereum instead of Base. Write to us right away with the transaction hash. Sometimes such transfers can be rescued, but we can’t promise it, so check the network before sending.
